Palos Verdes Engagement Session / Bonnie + Jason

What an effortless shoot, effortless meaning I honestly didn’t really have to try with Bonnie and Jason. Their love was so obviously and infectious, I just had to hold down my shutter. It helped that the light was so creamy and delicious.

Jason and Bonnie has known each other since preschool, can you believe that? They brought along their ipod to the shoot which is so nostalgic, reminds me of the college days. They brought along the cutest picnic setup and made me a bag of cookies and treats to take home. I love my clients and can’t wait for their big day!

Bonnie and I have actually known each other since we were in kindergarten but our story together did not start until the end of high school when we went to prom as each other's dates. The courtship was first initiated by sharing music from my Ipod in class our senior year of high school that led to constant exchanging of our favorite tracks. After almost a year of very subtle flirting, I finally asked her to be my girlfriend. She replied to this request vaguely but in hindsight rather fittingly by putting in a headphone into my ear with the song "Can't Help Falling in Love" by Elvis Presley playing on my Ipod. Shortly after, we had frequent outdoor picnics at any park we could find. And as we grew older, so did our taste for adventure - with state and national parks like Joshua Tree, Zion, Bryce Canyon, Antelope Canyon, and Jasper National Park quickly checked off our bucket list. This culminated in my proposing to her at Lake Moraine in Banff, to which she said, "Yes!"

We've not only been with each other our entire adult lives, but are also fortunate enough to share childhood memories, having been a constant in each other's lives since we were kids growing up in the same neighborhood. As I'm writing this, I realize our love story isn't very common. At the same time, I can't believe how lucky I am to have found everything I've ever wanted in her.
