AV Events Irvine Styled Shoot

What an incredible styled shoot this was at AV Events in Irvine, styled and planned by the fabulous Jen So from Campfire Events.

Jen and I were the first wedding vendors at this venue 2 years ago for Jenny and Kevin’s wedding and we decided to put on a styled shoot.

Our theme was inspired by the movie “Crazy Rich Asians”. We hope you love it.

Reminiscing back on our first wedding at the beautiful AV Irvine back in 2016, one of the most memorable experiences was not only celebrating a couple beginning a new life together after over a decade of dating, but watching them figure out the gravity of what it meant be one through the unification of their families and their cultures.

When returning to this venue, it was a no brainer to revisit this feeling through a shoot inspired by the book and movie, Crazy Rich Asians. Wealth can be defined in many ways and we like to think that being rich in love, culture, and tradition allows couples to take a big part of themselves along for the new chapter they start as a married couple.

For this shoot, we wanted to incorporate the rich colors, Chinese attire, themes and found modern ways of giving a nod to tradition as well.

Our invitations, save the dates and menu place cards featured Asian inspired watercolor patterns and used a combination of both last names from our couple showing them as one new name to serve as their “monogram”. Our tablescape plates resembled a bird’s nest as an ode to important Chinese motifs along with traditional woven tassels featuring a gold coin that dressed our lanterns.

The ceremony site was custom built to carry over an Asian inspired geometric and balanced pattern with a modern twist through the use of beautiful white and golden florals. Such intricate patterns can also be spotted on our glorious cake as well as our invitation suite. Meanwhile, our reception featured bold and bright colors to give guests a different experience throughout each part of the program.

Our beautiful brides are shown wearing breathtaking gowns from the timeless collection of En Blanc while also wearing a traditional lucky red Cheongsam. Our groom and groomsman sported suits with a subtle paisley print for a hint of glam and texture of their own giving guests yet another reason to do a double take at the details.

Last but not least, an instrumental part of the Chinese blessings were shared through the talented set of acrobatic Lion Dancers and drummer gracing this couple with their energy and scrolls wishing them an everlasting union full of harmony.

Weddings have hundreds of details woven into the fabric of the day and night, but finding ways to share important parts of yourselves through unique and beautiful cultural  elements truly gives guests an experience to remember.
